Norwegian — $473: Los Angeles to Rome, Roundtrip.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

That means trying out some of the best local gelato in the city, renting a tiny old Fiat and zooming up insanely steep and narrow streets, and maybe squeezing in a visit to some of the city’s most famous sights along the way.

Trevi Fountain

If you’re a big fan of Renaissance architecture and have a thing for buff naked dudes, you’ll love the Sistine Chapel, painted by Michelangelo (you’ll have to be a ninja to sneak a photo like I did, since photography is not allowed).

Sistine Ceiling!

The inside of Saint Peter’s church is pretty damn breath-taking, too, I might add.

Side dome, S Peter's

But maybe you’re more of a Classical Roman architecture kind of person? This is Rome, so you came to the right place. The Colosseum is a marvelous place to visit.
