In case you’re not the spontaneous type and like to plan ahead, now is the time to make plans for fall travel. There are some ridiculously cheap fares right now from New York to Europe, including a new direct route launched between Newburgh and Bergen, Norway (famous for its proximity to fjords that could swallow Manhattan whole).

Most of the fares below are on full-service airlines, but a few are on Norwegian and WOW, low-cost carriers. Their basic fare doesn’t cover checked luggage and other amenities. Newburgh-Bergen: October 5-16 on Norwegian for $230. Flight is nonstop, believe it or not! Link and currency in Norwegian. FYI, this airport is about 70 miles north of Manhattan. This is a sale price because Norwegian just launched this route.
